Wow! I just came across this and thank you for including my piece on your post. I am glad it resonated with you all. I loved the reference to the Lord of the Rings and playfulness as a critical facet we should embrace in life (to not just counteract the lunacy of tech but also in life in general). I also resonated with drawing an intentional sandbox to craft what play or resistance could look like as systems of tech are so multifaceted and intersectional… I, too, have been very focused on building a guideline, or a vocabulary if you will, that defines specific boundaries on what I am actually trying to *subvert* when I share my writing. Really enjoyed! xx

Thanks, Eileen, we really enjoyed the systematic approach in your post! I feel like the power of creative subversion on dominant platforms is often overlooked, especially by technologist who would much rather build their own sandboxes. But both forms are important for their own reasons. And obviously, playfulness is so often a crucial element in subversiveness and a crucial part of exploring the boundaries.
